Now imagine that child also having to contend with rockets, sirens, displacement, stress, injury, and trauma from war. This is the devastating reality for thousands of Israeli children today. On Sunday, October 5, 2025, the Gilat Foundation invites you to be part of a profoundly moving evening at ALYN Hospital in Jerusalem. Featuring a gourmet dinner and an exclusive performance by internationally renowned Israeli artist Ishay Ribo, this intimate gala event brings together people who believe in turning pain into purpose. This intimate and inspiring event brings together individuals who believe in turning pain into purpose. Your presence supports children in Israel who are not only battling complex medical conditions but are also recovering from the trauma of war. But this evening isn’t just about music—it’s about mission. Who We Are Gilat Israel is an international nonprofit dedicated to supporting Israel’s most vulnerable pediatric patients—those facing long-term, complex, and life-threatening illnesses. Inspired by the memory of Gilat z”l, an extraordinary 11-year-old girl who radiated joy even in the darkest moments of her illness, the Foundation brings emotional, psychological, and social healing to children who spend months—and sometimes years—in hospitals. Founded in the Netherlands, our work began long before the war, but following the horrors of October 7th, our programs flew to Israel and became lifelines. We were one of the first organizations to respond to the urgent and essential needs of hospitalized children displaced and wounded by the war. What We Do Our flagship initiative brings weekly therapeutic theater experiences inside hospital walls. The theater offers joy, laughter, and meaningful engagement to children too ill to attend regular group activities. These are not just performances—they are trauma-informed interventions co-created with pediatric psychologists and tailored to the cognitive and physical abilities of each child. Our professional therapeutic actors bring music, puppetry, humor, and human connection directly to the bedsides of children too ill or immunocompromised to leave their rooms. By returning week after week, our performers become trusted figures—bringing familiarity, fun, and emotional grounding to both children and their families. For parents, it provides a rare and powerful moment of hope, relief, and connection. Why It Matters In just one year, we’ve reached over 6,000 children through our hospital-based programs. We currently operate in four leading pediatric institutions: ALYN Hospital, Shalva National Center, Hadassah Ein Karem, and Shaare Zedek Medical Center. By the end of 2026, we aim to expand to four additional hospitals—including Sheba, Schneider, and Hadassah Har HaTzofim. Every program is offered free of charge. Every smile, every moment of laughter, every flicker of light in a hospital room is made possible by generous donors like you. Why This Gala This is our most important fundraising event of the year. Your participation and support helps us scale from four to eight hospitals. This increase will allow us to reach thousands more children with therapeutic programs that offer not just joy, but the desperately needed deep emotional healing and resilience.  Sponsorship opportunities are available, and all donations are tax-deductible. Seats are extremely limited. Join us. Bring hope. And help us turn pain into purpose.
