Building the "Shirat Yair" synagogue

We continue the melody of his life, building the "Shirat Yair" synagogue in memory of Yair Hananya, HYD.With great excitement, we began the construction of the "Shirat Yair" synagogue in Mitzpe Netofa. We continue to raise funds to complete the construction and we ask for your help with donations and distribution. Yair, our beloved son and beloved brother, fell in battle in the 2nd of November 2024 in Jebalia, in Gaza. Yair was a role model who brightened the lives of many. He was a gifted musician who played a variety of instruments, a paytan (liturgical poet) who managed to touch hearts, and a Ba’al Koreh (Torah reader), whose words resonated with kavanah, sincere intention, and love. He was a public servant with all his heart. Yair served as a counselor in Bnei Akiva, as a soldier who dedicated his life to assisting others, and as an integral part of the Mitzpe Netufa community and the Sephardic minyan. In the last letter that Yair left us, his life’s testament becomes clearer to us. He willed to fix the world, to be good people to one other, to be great, and most importantly, to be real. Our beloved Yair was endowed with a rare inner truth, great perseverance, and an inspiring sense of mission. He was and still is a source of great responsibility, light, song, and connection between people. Now, we, the family, friends, and community, wish to continue the song of his life. In Mitzpe Netofa, we begin building a synagogue named “Shirat Yair”, in Yair’s memory and in his honor. The synagogue will serve as a place of prayer, singing, faith, light and unity, reflecting Yair’s values ​​and legacy. “This is our foundation, to live in this world with all the pain and suffering that comes with it and to work to fix it, this is our mission”. This is our way to preserve the melody of his life, and to ensure that Yair’s spirit will continue to live within us. Every donation, large or small, is another step in building the house that will bear Yair's name and continue his legacy.
