Dream Doctors - Medical Clown

Dream Doctors Foundation has been working for over 20 years to integrate professional medical clowns as part of the therapeutic team in hospitals across Israel. Today, more than 100 trained clowns operate in 33 hospitals, community settings, and emergency situations, as an integral part of the medical staff. The clowns engage with the healthy side of the patients – offering a hand, listening, sparking imagination and laughter, and strengthening their resilience in coping with illness and hardship. Since October 7th, the Dream Doctors' medical clowns have been using therapeutic tools for trauma processing with various populations affected by the war — injured children arriving at hospitals, evacuees in hotels from the Gaza-border communities, children who lost both parents, children who returned from Hamas captivity, and even soldiers coping with PTSD. The therapeutic clowning approach is first and foremost a remedy for the soul, and Dream Doctors have adapted their activity since the outbreak of the war to meet the urgent needs on the ground.
