Safe Rooms in Ben Shemen

Since the start of the wars, students and teachers across Israel have faced ongoing displacement and uncertainty. Learning continues, but safe and protected learning environments are still not guaranteed. At TALMA, we are working to change that. Over the past months, our teams and global community have stepped up to support students and communities wherever they are, from tutoring displaced youth to leading educational and community initiatives across the country. We’ve also expanded our impact through hands-on volunteering, including work at the Israeli Guide Dog Center, supporting people with PTSD and visual impairments. We’ve continued to create meaningful learning experiences even in the most challenging conditions. Now, we are taking the next step. We are building protected learning spaces (mamadim) at the Ben Shemen Youth Village, spaces that will serve as safe classrooms and meeting areas for students, teachers, and staff. These rooms will allow learning to continue safely, consistently, and with stability, even during times of uncertainty. To make this a reality, we are raising $140,000.
