City On The Rise Program

Improving Social Mobility for Youth in the Periphery by encouraging meaningful military service in the IDF and guiding them toward pre-military leadership programs. The program was developed by the Maglan Alumni Association in collaboration with professional experts and is supported by leading organizations in Israel’s business sector. At the core of the program is a close, long-term mentorship for participating high-school students over three years, from 10th to 12th grade. The active-duty Maglan Unit has also joined the program, taking part in skill-building modules, inspiration and motivation sessions through meetings with soldiers, guidance activities, training, and participation in special enrichment days both on the base and in Kiryat Malachi. Students in the program receive a scholarship equal to one year of university tuition (approximately 12,000 NIS).
