Lighting up the North

In the past two years, the North has undergone many upheavals: war, damage to communities and settlements, residents who were forced to leave their homes, and a sense of uncertainty that has accompanied daily life and makes it difficult to return to the routine of life even today. We, the Upper Galilee Preparatory School, which has lived and worked in the North for almost three decades, see a mission in action for the revival of the region and to give voice to the resilience of the North. This coming Hanukkah, we will hold the Lighting the North Race, a relay race approximately 90 km long (approximately 5 km per section), from Rosh HaNikra to Metula. During the race, we will pass between local councils and communities, with the aim of raising national awareness of the challenges of reconstruction, and demonstrating support and solidarity for the residents of the North. At the same time, we will strive to present the heritage, history and beauty of the northern perimeter and its importance to the entire State of Israel. We would love to see you supporting and participating in the race itself. Together we can illuminate the North and lead a message of hope for a better future.
