We continue Guy's path – a life of meaning, connections, and hope. A year and two months ago, our son, Major Guy Nezri z"l, a commander in Battalion 52 of Brigade 401, fell in a fierce battle that took place on the Gaza Strip border during the Iron Swords War. Guy risked his life attempting to save his comrades in the tank from an anti-tank missile fired at them .Guy fought bravely – with the goal of defending the Gaza envelope, defending the home, defending us. He was a beloved commander, a native of Atlit, a twin brother to Tamar, and an older brother to Yuval. A person who saw every individual with love, and who was a bridge between different worlds. Before his military service, Guy chose to grow at the Meitarim Lechish leadership academy ("Mechina") in Eliav. A significant year that shaped his character and strengthened his sense of mission and dedication to the land and the people. Today – we are building a continuation. "Meitarim Lechish Gevim leadership academy named after Guy Nezri" – a new branch of the Meitarim-Lechish Mechina in the heart of Kibbutz Gevim in the Gaza envelope. A mixed leadership academy – religious, secular, girls, and boys – who choose to live together, learn together, and mend together. What is commemoration for us? It is not just a stone with a name. It is community life, an open study hall (Beit Midrash), a ground for growth and healing – precisely in the place where Guy fell. It is dialogue between identities, love of the land, taking responsibility. It is the ability to rebuild – not just a kibbutz or a house, but trust, hope, meaning. What is our victory? The choice of life. The choice to rise and establish. The choice to educate a new generation that will follow Guy's light.
