Launching a Half-Year Pre-Army Leadership Program

The security and social realities in the State of Israel in recent years necessitate the development of value-driven, courageous, and dedicated leadership that originates from all segments of the population. We view military service as an essential space for self-fulfillment, both in the battle for the security of the country's citizens and for shaping the character of the IDF as an "Army of the People"—a moral and principled army loyal to the democratic state. To build this leadership, in September 2026, we are opening the Haviva Reik Pre-Army Leadership Program ("Mechina"). The program will address all segments of the population, with particular focus on cadets from social peripheries, immigrant youth, and those facing exclusion and risk. The Mechinah cadets will undergo a personal and group process to develop personal resilience and leadership for Israeli society. The educational process will focus on developing a set of values, addressing issues of equality, strengthening democracy, identity, and Zionism. We welcome your partnership to provide the gift of the Mechinah to additional young men and women from diverse communities. They will gain a meaningful, empowering, developing, and connecting experience with Israeli society. Support for the Mechinah's establishment is critical during the founding stages until official recognition is granted by the Ministry of Defense.
