Olam Chessed Yibane is a communal initiative which places bright orange collection bins in schools across Israel. Students bring essential dry goods and fill the bins. Once a month, the children pack the goods into boxes and they are discreetly delivered to needy families in the school community. Currently, we have containers in sixty seven schools, and we want to reach dozens more schools and families. We’re inundated with calls from school principals who want to join the Olam Chesed Yibaneh initiative. Setting up a new collection point in a school costs $1,000 (includes the collection bin, boxes, a freezer for meat,chicken, and fish that we add to the boxes, and logistical needs). That collection point isn't a one off use. It carries on giving. Month by month. Year by year. That’s why we are asking you to join us. So we can keep providing that basic of basics. Food.
