Running Mima'amakim for Migdal Oz
Donors: 155
On October 25th 2023, Adina Miriam Cannon passed away at the young age of 38 after fighting cancer for seven months. Adina started her adult life learning Torah in the Women's Beit Midrash in Migdal Oz, after completing two years of national service and before going to university.
Following her passing we established "Mima'amakim – the Adina Miriam Cannon Foundation" in Migdal Oz. The Mima’amakim Foundation is dedicated to assisting young women in the Beit Midrash who are struggling with issues of mental health, to learn Torah and acquire meaningful tools for their future lives.
The Migdal Oz Beit Midrash has been a groundbreaking institution in the world of women's Torah learning for over 25 years. It is founded on the belief in the importance of shaping a deep and meaningful Torah environment. It is known around the world as a powerful space for Torah study and prayer that challenges women to learn, teach and grow in their Avodat Hashem.
The Beit Midrash continues to expand, offering a wide range of programs for women at all stages of life, including pre- and post-service programs, advanced tracks for graduates, and in-depth studies in Talmud, Jewish thought, and Halacha.
In recent years, there has been a growing awareness of the need to address mental health challenges. The Beit Midrash is committed to being a resource in this area and to providing various forms of support both to its students and to the broader alumnae community.
In the past year, the fund has provided significant assistance and leadership to the young women and staff through meaningful processes:
• Students, graduates, and staff received a series of professional psychological treatments.
• Workshops were held in the following areas:
• Workshops for life preparation in advanced programs - relationships, career choice, pre-marital agreements.
• Workshops for staff led by professionals.
• Workshops for targeted groups - a series of study meetings for a group of women graduates in the reserves, Zoom meetings for reservists and those on active duty, newlyweds, and parents with young children.
•
With your generous support, we can ensure the emotional well-being of the students and graduates of the Beit Midrash, offering them the assistance they need to grow and thrive in their lives.
We feel that the Foundation is a most fitting tribute to the light and legacy of Adina, a woman of kindness and noble character, whose entire essence was dedicated to helping others.
In the Dead Sea Marathon this year (February 6, 2026) we will be running the half marathon course in Adina's memory in order to fundraise for the Foundation so we can continue supporting young women who wish to learn Torah.
Please support our running so we can support others.
