Purim for the Community

Purim is a holiday of joy and connection, but for many families—children, teenagers, and parents—it is not always an easy time. For 23 years, Bakehila has been working with children and youth at risk in Jerusalem and the north of Israel, grounded in deep community ties and daily, hands-on action in the field. This Purim, we are launching a special initiative that includes: • Gift baskets for the holiday • Costumes for children from families who cannot afford them • Activities for reserve-duty families, children in hospitals, and communities affected by the current reality This work is led by our Shinshinim (gap-year volunteers) and youth participants—young people who connect, give, and learn the true meaning of mutual responsibility, and then pass it forward.
