Establishing "Mitzpe Amit" - commemorating the late Captain (Res.) Amit Hayut

Donors: 662

Amit was a native of the Neve Sha'anan neighborhood in Haifa, a Technion graduate with honors (computer science and mathematics) and an NVIDIA employee. He combined academic excellence with love of country, surfing and climbing. Amit was a quiet leader, beloved by his friends and devoted to his family and his partner, Shirry. When the war broke out, Amit enlisted in the reserves and served over 300 days. On October 26, 2024, in the battle of Aitron in southern Lebanon, Amit charged at the head of the force to rescue wounded soldiers under heavy fire and prevent the kidnapping of soldiers. He fell as a hero, while demonstrating extraordinary courage. We are establishing a memorial observatory at the northern point of Gan Nahum, the place where Amit grew up and played, with a panoramic view of the Haifa Bay and the beach he loved so much. The observatory will have a seating area, a view balcony and a monument telling his story. Our goal is to establish a place that will be an asset for the residents of the neighborhood to meet, commune and connect with the landscape. Be a partner in the construction The project is being carried out with self-financing and with the help of donors. The work is planned to be completed by the holidays of Tishrei . Your donation will help us turn the memory into a living reality. "When he died, he commanded us to live and love the land. Help us commemorate him at home, in Neve Sha'anan."
