Continuing the Legacy of the Late Lily Weil

Throughout her life, Lily founded and led many social initiatives from establishing the Jewish school Ariel in Paris, to MATAN, a Torah center for women a social supermarket and course founding of Yad Rachel Educational & Therapeutic Centers together with her friends Micheline Trèves z”l and Marlène Grebler z”l. All of these initiatives were born from the same deep choice: not to remain in belief alone but to translate conviction into concrete action. We her family, grandchildren, and close friends seek to continue her path a path of responsibility as a daily choice, a path of deep sensitivity toward every person, and a belief that education, therapy, and community can change destinies. Many people believe one should increase goodness in the world. Lily believed and acted. She never settled for intentions or for saying, “something should be done.” Again and again, she chose action and took responsibility. From that same belief that faith must become action, we identified an additional need among parents in the Yad Rachel centers. The need emerged during the COVID-19 period and intensified throughout the war and the ongoing complex security reality. At Yad Rachel, we understood that in order to create deep and meaningful change in children’s lives during times of uncertainty, a broader and more comprehensive response is required one that also accompanies and strengthens the parents, the most central and significant factor in a child’s development. From this understanding, the “Strengthening Parenting Parents at the Heart of the Family Connection” program was developed. The program views the parent as a central partner in the therapeutic process and seeks to reinforce the parent-child relationship as the foundation for growth, resilience, and emotional wellbeing for the child and the entire family. Thanks to this campaign, we will enable the full implementation of the program: 2,000 additional hours of therapy and emotional guidance for parents in Yad Rachel centers 120 parent workshops and support groups Professional training and supervision for staff This is an investment in an entire system not a temporary intervention, but a deep therapeutic infrastructure. By strengthening parents, we create family stability. By creating stability, we give children resilience, security, and a safer future. Together, we will provide optimal support to 300 Yad Rachel families. Together we will continue Lily’s path not only in faith, but also in action.טסט
