Ophir Maimon Walks Again
Offir Maimon, who once served as a combat officer in the Shayetet 13 and was at the peak of his career, encountered an unexpected obstacle: multiple sclerosis. The disease struck precisely when his career as a senior executive was at its height. Affecting the nervous system, it inflicted damage that made it difficult for him to continue life as he knew it. Yet Ophir, like a true warrior, did not let the disease stop him. As with any significant challenge, he faced it with the help of sports and community, successfully tackling challenges like the Ironman and challenging treks such as the Annapurna Circuit.
During times when Offir wasn't focused on his personal challenges, he invested his time in meaningful volunteer work. Within the Atalef Foundation, he assists injured veterans of Shayetet 13 and other IDF soldiers, providing them support and solace, just as is needed when reality requires coping with injuries and rehabilitation. Ophir believes in his ability to change lives, not just his own but others’ too.
Thanks to the support of friends and family, Offir discovered an innovative therapy in London that could significantly improve his quality of life: the Exopulse suit. This device, a breakthrough in neuromodulation, reduces chronic pain and spasm attacks. After an initial fundraising of $30,000, Offiir traveled to London and experienced the change firsthand — the amount of pain decreased significantly and his range of motion expanded.
But the journey is still long. To maintain the positive outcomes and ensure a future of movement , freedom and pain reduction further rehabilitative treatments are necessary along with an annual trip to London for suit maintenance. Therefore, we turn to you, dear friends and supporters, to help us raise an additional $35,000. Your donation can make a world of difference!
