Today, 28.02, on Shabbat at 8:13 in the morning, we all woke up to the sound of a siren tearing through the blessed silence of the Holy Sabbath. Shabbat “Zachor,” the one on which we remember what Amalek did to us. Today, all of Israel remembered. From 10 a.m., continuous alerts have been sounding through the Home Front Command apps, sirens across the entire country. We have once again entered a war with Amalek — with absolute evil, embodied today by the criminal regime of Iran. This is not merely a war over territory; it is a war for the right to exist, in which Israel stands on the front line protecting the entire world from a nuclear threat in the hands of fanatical extremists. But at the same time, for Israelis, this means around-the-clock bombardment by modern ballistic missiles, a single strike of which can destroy several buildings at once. Everything we went through this summer — only intensified. We do not know how long this war will last. The people of Israel are already paying a tremendous price so that the world may live, for the swift arrival of Mashiach — but we need your help. There are already victims of the Iranian bombardments, including children. Tomorrow will be worse. Dozens of elderly people will not be visited by their caregivers because of the state of emergency in the country. Hundreds of mothers with children will find themselves trapped in their apartments, as their children panic and cannot reach the shelter in time. Women and children, pet owners, people with disabilities, the elderly — everyone is at risk. Iranian missiles do not check nationality or religion — everyone suffers: Jews, Arabs, Christians, Muslims, secular and religious alike. This is our shared pain. The Yad Yitzchak Foundation cannot stand aside from what is happening. Today at 19:30, we opened a support hotline for all those directly or indirectly affected by the Iranian attacks — for those who are disoriented, under stress, or in need of social assistance. Our staff, including a social worker, continue working despite the state of emergency and are ready to provide all available support, including financial assistance where necessary. If you are in a situation where you need help, please call or write to us: WhatsApp: 058-469-2600 Email: ezra@yadyitzchok.org We speak Russian, English, French, Hebrew, and Yiddish. Most importantly: we are opening a fundraising campaign to assist those affected. For those who cannot leave their homes due to health conditions or fear, we will deliver food and essential supplies. For large families and single mothers forced to spend Purim in shelters, we will bring packages for the Purim meal and supportive gifts for children. We sincerely hope we will not need to raise funds to help people whose homes have been damaged — but we are prepared for that as well. The summer war with Iran taught us to act quickly and effectively. Every shekel you donate will be used strictly and honestly for its intended purpose. Now more than ever, we need your support. This is our shared struggle — for life, for light, for goodness. Thank you for standing with us. Am Yisrael Chai.
