Keeping the daily routine - Protecting our homes

On Purim, we all wear masks – but some cannot hide from reality. Right now, as Operation “Lion’s Roar” disrupts daily life across the country, there are those who cannot pause. In ALUT’ Homes for Life , autistic adults live in residences that are far more than housing. For them, home is an anchor. Routine is security. Stability is the ability to breathe. ALUT’s Activities During the War Communication Kindergartens and ALUT Daycare Centers The teams continue to provide individual therapeutic support and professional guidance to parents who are required to stay at home with their children. In addition, the teams prepare educational and therapeutic materials for families and conduct home visits whenever possible. ALUT'S Community at work  ALUT develops materials and tools tailored for the community, such as posters for shelters that help ease the experience of staying in protected spaces for children and adults on the autism spectrum and those around them. Parents' Hotline Many parents reach out to receive information, support, and guidance regarding their rights, coping at home, and assistance during this challenging period. Residential Homes (“Homes for Life”) In ALUT’s residential homes, teams are working in reinforced staffing formats since the residents are staying in the homes 24/7. In some cases, the homes had to relocate to buildings with protected spaces. The staff are facing a particularly heavy workload, especially during sirens and throughout difficult nights. At the same time, some of our dedicated team members have been called up for reserve duty. Those who remain are working around the clock, staying in the homes for extended periods with very few breaks, carrying immense professional and emotional responsibility. This year, our joy is not a costume — it is a choice. We choose to keep going. To keep caring. To keep embracing. To make sure every resident has warm meals, a clean bed, a smiling caregiver, and a protected space. And we choose to care for those who care for them — to support and uplift our staff, to show them that we see them, and to thank them from the bottom of our hearts for the responsibility they carry and the sense of security they provide every single day. 💜 Let’s do it together!
