Nuema– A Community for Bereaved Friends
The grief of bereaved friends is a quiet, often "invisible" pain. It is a profound and aching loss, yet it frequently lacks social or official recognition. Since friends do not fall under the formal definition of "bereaved family," they are often left to navigate their sorrow alone — without a shared language, a formal framework, or a safe space to process their grief. This is why we founded "Nuema."
"Nuema" was established in memory of Noam Shallom, who was murdered on October 7th at the Nova Music Festival. Noam lived by values of friendship; she was always there to listen, care for, and empower those around her. Through this community initiative, we strive to carry on her legacy — turning pain into strength ♡ and memory into a living connection.
Nuema provides support for young adults (ages 18–35) who lost a friend during the October 7 massacre, within the Gaza envelope settlements, or during military service
Our mission is to provide support, recognition, and aid to bereaved friends — those who have lost "chosen family" but remain outside the official circle of bereavement.
We are currently establishing a welcoming, vibrant "Home" in Binyamina (just a three-minute walk from the train station). This will be a space for healing, creativity, and remembrance — a supportive environment where friends can find peace, breathe, share, and grow together.
The center will offer weekly emotional processing groups led by specialists in grief, loss, and trauma. We will also host a variety of workshops, sharing circles, and unique holistic therapeutic activities.
We invite you to contribute and become a partner in this vital change. Every contribution, large or small, directly enables our activities and helps us build this sanctuary. Your donation goes toward establishing the physical space and funding group therapy, individual counseling, and integrated therapeutic work.
All donations are tax-deductible (Section 46A).
Join our campaign, and together, let’s build a home and lasting recognition for bereaved friends.
