When Shiva Ends – Support Should Not End Help Us Strengthen Families Who Lost Loved Ones in the War

During these difficult days, Israel is facing a challenging war with Iran. Many families have tragically joined the circle of bereavement after losing their loved ones. Behind every headline about those who were killed stands an entire family — parents, children, brothers and sisters — whose lives changed in a single moment. During the days of shiva, the home is filled with visitors, friends and community members who come to comfort and support. But when the shiva ends and everyone returns to their daily lives, the family is left alone with the grief, the pain, and a completely new reality. That is when the hardest days truly begin.  Turning Personal Pain into a Mission The organization B'Darkei Tamar was founded after we lost our beloved daughter Tamar. Through our personal journey of loss, we learned how difficult the period after shiva can be for a grieving family. From that place of pain, we chose to turn our experience into a mission to help other families going through the same heartbreaking reality. Our goal is simple: To make sure that no grieving family is left alone during the hardest moments.  The “Strengthening Families” Initiative Through this initiative, we visit grieving families after the shiva and provide them with a care and support package, which may include: • Professional home cleaning after the shiva period • Warm meals and essential groceries • Emotional support and counseling • Dedicated volunteers who accompany the family • Assistance with daily tasks and arrangements • Continued visits and support during the first critical weeks This support gives families the ability to breathe and regain some stability during the most difficult period of their lives.  Standing Together With Israel In the most difficult moments, the Jewish people stand together.
