A Sefer Torah Written in Memory of Two Beloved Brothers

Every letter is a light, uplifting the souls of Meir and Yosef Shalom. ✨

Joseph Shalom was a child with an especially sensitive heart and a gentle soul. At just six years old, his world was shattered when his older brother, Meir of blessed memory, was killed in a tragic accident before his eyes during Chol HaMoed Sukkot. From that moment, something within him dimmed. He gradually withdrew into himself, carrying a quiet pain that never faded, struggling each day in a world that was too loud for such a tender heart. He loved holiness. He loved the synagogue — but the path to get there demanded strength he simply did not have. On the last Simchat Torah evening, on Hoshana Rabbah, at only 23 years old, Joseph Shalom’s heart stopped, and he was reunited with his brother Meir. Two sons. Two precious souls who were taken from this world during the days of Sukkot. Now we are writing a Sefer Torah, and we invite you to join us in this sacred mitzvah. Every contribution is a letter. Every letter is a light that will continue to shine in the world, elevating the souls of my beloved sons, Meir and Joseph Shalom. ✨ If you’d like, I can also prepare a more polished version suited for a fundraising campaign or memorial page, which often reads a bit more smoothly in English.
