Safety. Certainty. Stability. These are things all of us need, and especially those who have experienced sexual violence. Since October 7, and even more so following the successive rounds of war with Iran, daily life has become more frightening and less predictable. For many survivors of sexual violence, getting through these ongoing rounds of war depends on having a space to pause, let their guard down, and feel held for a few moments. That kind of anchor can truly save lives. At the Jerusalem Rape Crisis Center, we work every day to provide survivors with that steady, accessible, and compassionate place they can count on. But in order to keep offering that kind of support during this period of uncertainty, we also need greater stability ourselves.
