9215 Battalion 2026

On October 7, 2023, IDF Battalion 9215 answered the call to defend Israel – and our soldiers rose in masses. Our unique armored battalion of approximately 500 incredible reservists represents every corner of Israeli society: working people from all religions, communities, and backgrounds – fathers, students, professionals, business owners, and even Yom Kippur War veterans. They serve again and again with courage and humility on the front lines. The battalion played critical roles in major battles: we established the Netzarim Corridor that split Gaza and became a key offensive route for IDF forces; we maneuvered in western Lebanon and returned to Gaza three more times. Now, in February 2026, we are called back for over 80 days of front-line reserve duty inside the Gaza Strip. What keeps us going – even as the war drags on and public appreciation fades – is the strength of our unit, its cohesion, and the mutual support we provide.
