Building the Living Legacy of the Victims and Heroes of October 7th

On October 7th, 2023, the Re'im forest—once a vibrant sanctuary of joy and freedom for the ‘Nova’, ‘Mushroom’, ‘Psyduck’, and ‘Midburn’ communities—was transformed in an instant into a site of profound pain and loss. Hundreds of young souls who only wanted to dance, alongside brave security forces and civilians who acted with unimaginable heroism, left their dreams behind. On that black morning, the music stopped—but their stories must continue to be heard.
From a Painful Initiative to a National Mission
Born from the ruins and the devotion of bereaved families, this project began when parents and siblings arrived at the site amidst the chaos to place the first photos of their loved ones. Artist Amir Chodorov joined this sacred mission; without budgets or committees, he invested his entire heart and personal fortune to transform a private initiative into a unique national landmark. His promise to the families is the mission we all share: "Your children will never be forgotten."
A Story Soaked in the Earth
Here, between the trails, the echoes of the last "I love you" messages sent from crowded shelters still linger. This is the place where friends held hands and refused to part even when under fire, and where total strangers became heroes in the face of terror. Re’im is a living testament to lives cut short and to bravery that emerged from the darkness—stories now sealed forever in this soil.
What Are We Building Together?
To preserve this sacred space and ensure that the legacy of every victim and hero is kept alive, we invite you to partner with us in establishing:
• Commemorating Faces, Names, and Stories: Creating hundreds of unique, durable memorial displays. Each display features the face, name, and personal life story of a victim, written by their own family.
• Artistic Preservation & Site Development: Developing the ceremonial grounds, the "Eternal Candles" project, the Shelter Memorial, the Small Stage, and the Ambulance Site—creating a deeply moving space for reflection.
• The Living Heritage & Education Center: Transforming the site into a world-class educational hub. This center provides the infrastructure for families to share stories of heroism, ensuring their loved ones' voices resonate for generations to come.
Your support is far more than a donation - it is a direct partnership in the national mission of preserving memory. Be a partner in building the Home of Life Stories. For them, and for the generations to follow.
