As Israel tries to emerge from two and a half years of war and the most recent war with Iran into a period of ceasefire, our national recovery begins. But for cancer patients, the internal battle never stopped—the war only intensified their daily struggles. In a time of unprecedented security and economic strain, a moment of respite has shifted from a luxury to a lifeline.  Founded in 2014, Refanah provides cancer patients and their families with short, private retreats to break the grueling cycle of treatments as well as to celebrate recovery. With 30,000 new diagnoses annually, cancer remains a national crisis that halts "normal" life in an instant. For those who faced the terror of war while fighting for their lives, these retreats offer a vital chance to recharge and heal without the crushing weight of financial ruin.
