No one should be without a synagogue when prayers are needed the most. Please help us build a protected space for the Young Israel of Neve Aliza.
On Shabbat Zachor – the Sabbath when we are urged to remember Amalek, the enemy that tried to destroy the Jewish people as they left Egypt – a siren sounded. The war with Iran had begun. The Young Israel of Neve Aliza was closed for over five weeks because it had no bomb shelter. Being closed adversely affected communal life, life events and our ongoing programs of enrichment for youth, teens, young families and seniors. With resilience, we maintained tefillah in neighborhood shelters and nursery schools with attached shelters.
To ensure that no one should be without a synagogue when prayers are needed the most, the Young Israel is installing a protected space. We need your help.
The Neve Aliza community was founded 40 years ago by committed immigrants primarily from the United States and Canada. Over time we have been enriched by Olim from around the world. Our uniqueness lies in our remarkable ability to preserve the cultural identity of the immigrant community while deeply integrating into Israeli society. The majority of our youth proudly go on to join the IDF or do national service. Sadly, we have lost some sons and grandsons along the way.
Building a safe and secure shelter is within reach. For one hundred fifty thousand dollars, we can provide a safe addition to allow The Young Israel of Neve to be prepared both physically and spiritually in the future.
Please consider donating to keep the prayers in our synagogue.
