Remembrance Ambassadors - In the First Person
By THE ARIEL DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION
Becoming the Voice of those who can no longer speak
The day when no holocaust survivors will live among us is nearing. Who will tell their stories to future generations?
The Need:
Anyone who has ever heard a Holocaust survivor tell their story knows that the experience is etched into the soul. Soon, we will no longer be able to hear these testimonies directly from those who lived them.
The Solution:
To bridge this gap, we are establishing a leadership group in Ariel of 15-20 'Remembrance Ambassadors' - most of whom are second and third-generation descendants of Holocaust survivors.
These ambassadors will undergo intensive professional training involving researchers, therapists, and actors to learn how to tell a story of survival and heroism in the first person. While many will share their own family's history, others will tell the stories of individuals they have researched and adopted as their own.
Why is this vital?
When a story is told in the first person, the distance disappears. The audience - whether elementary school students, teenagers, or adults - feels an immediate, human connection to the narrative. It becomes unforgettable. Our ambassadors will volunteer throughout the year across Ariel and the region, visiting schools, youth movements, workplaces, and various community centers. The group will include ambassadors who speak Hebrew, English, and Russian, allowing us to reach and connect with as many diverse audiences as possible.
We invite you to partner with us in ensuring these stories are never forgotten!
The cost of establishing this initiative, including professional training and ongoing coordination, is $23,000.
Every gift, no matter the size, ensures their voice will never be silenced.
