Desert Stars- Building Leadership in the Negev

Desert Stars is an educational leadership organization that cultivates a new generation of leaders from the Bedouin community in the Negev through a long-term, structured pathway that accompanies participants from adolescence into higher education, employment, and positions of influence. Operating at the heart of one of Israel’s most significant social challenges—where many young people face deep gaps in opportunity and access to resources-the organization creates a development track that connects personal excellence with community responsibility. Through programs such as its youth movement, leadership incubator, Ra’edat (young women’s leadership), and alumni program, participants gain skills, capabilities, and a strong leadership identity oriented toward long-term social impact. The result is a generation that chooses to lead-to initiate, to take responsibility, and to strengthen their communities from within, while building meaningful connections with broader Israeli society.
