If you had told me four years ago that I would cross the finish line of a full marathon, I would have said there was no chance it's will happen. In November 2025, I crossed the finish line of the New York city Marathon. The combination of my arms raised high holding the Israeli flag, the tears washing over me, and the profound realization that I had undertaken a life-changing journey— all of this coalesced into a single moment of pure, distilled happiness. And more than that — I had the privilege of reaching this moment as an ambassador for Shalva. I realized that being a Shalva ambassador is a privilege. A privilege that, at every moment, fills my life with meaning and hope. Since the loss of my twin brother Elkana, who was killed in Gaza in January 2024, his words have stayed with me constantly: "Live! Don't stop for a moment embrace the full intensity of life!""Hold hands and strengthen one another." These words take on a new meaning when I combine my running with giving to the children of Shalva.
