Help Us Put Israel on the Track in Europe’s Premier Solar Car Challenge For the first time in history, an Israeli student team is preparing to compete in the iLumen European Solar Challenge (iESC), the world’s only 24-hour solar car endurance race, held at the legendary Formula 1 circuit in Belgium. Teams from across Europe gather there to test the limits of solar-powered technology, innovation, and engineering excellence. This is not just a race, it’s a global platform that captures the attention of technology enthusiasts, industry leaders, and innovators worldwide. Who Are We? We are the Afeka Auto Club: a multidisciplinary team of 30 engineering students from Afeka College of Engineering in Tel Aviv, united by one ambitious goal: to design and build Israel’s next fully solar-powered race car - Orna 2.0. Following the success of Orna 1.0, Israel’s first fully solar-powered vehicle built entirely by students, we are now developing the next generation of our solar race car.
