JUDEA AND SAMARIA FARMS
By Hazala Yehuda and Shomron
No farm will be left alone
Yehuda and Shomron (“Yesha”) comprise approximately 150 Jewish communities, with a combined population of 500,000 Jews.
The geographic area covers 2,180 square miles and features limestone hills reaching up to 3,000 feet. Communities sit along the hills and valleys. It is rugged terrain.
The Arab population in the region numbers 2 million across hundreds of villages and towns.
Before October 7, 2023, there were about 60 Jewish farms scattered throughout Yesha.
These farms were a cluster of small buildings at most; some were single-family homes in trailers.
These brave families are pioneers seeking a quiet, simple life.
Since October 7th, 100 new farms have been established. These farmers saw what happened when the hamas broke through the border fence in Gaza, and they seek to prevent similar attacks in Yesha. The farmers realize that living on the outskirts of the main communities deters Arab encroachment.
And this method is working.
The main Jewish communities are safer this way.
These small farms are acting as security barriers. We want to help them.
Our project “YESHA Farms” has launched.
We aim to distribute an Emergency Medical Kit & Defibrillator to each farm, and train the farmers in first aid.
No farm will be left alone
We urgently need to equip these farms with ATVs to improve accessibility and enable the evacuation of injured personnel when necessary. The terrain and conditions prevent an ambulance from operating. Our teams are divided into five regions, and each region must be equipped with an emergency ATV so that no community is left without immediate lifesaving assistance. Each ATV costs $37,800.
