The Incredible Story of Mor and Yossi

By HaShomer HaChadash

Zionism on the Edge

You’ve never seen anything like this! A young couple moved into an abandoned IDF outpost just so they wouldn't abandon the border. Yes, for real. Mor and Yossi, who got married just a few months ago, established the "Sha'ar Yisrael" (Gate of Israel) farm inside the abandoned "Zarzir" outpost in the Jordan Valley. They might just be the easternmost settlement in Israel, right on the edge, located meters away from the international border with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Why are they there? Because no one else was doing it. Because without them, the border is wide open to terrorist activity and smuggling. Because they are true Zionists. Mor and Yossi are the eyes of the nation on the ground. Their presence at the outpost is a quiet human shield: thanks to them, the army has returned to patrol points that were left exposed, and smugglers trying to cross the border are met with a firm presence that forces them to retreat. Come and be a part of this incredible story! This settlement isn't a walk in the park. It is a daily struggle to live in extreme field conditions. To continue holding this point, to ensure our collective security, and to develop the farm, Mor and Yossi need basic infrastructure that they currently lack: water and electricity. Don't leave Mor and Yossi alone—let's give a boost to "Sha'ar Yisrael" farm!
