Building Our Future, Together
Help us secure the next decade of Kehillat Darchei TzionYou land in Israel with a few suitcases and no one waiting at the door. No grandparents down the street, no childhood friends, no built-in Shabbat table. And then someone from a shul you've never heard of invites you for that first Friday night, and the next, and the one after that. Within a month, people know your kids' names. Within a year, you have something that feels like family.
For more than 190 families in Modi'in, that shul is Kehillat Darchei Tzion.
We grew faster than anyone imaginedWhen we began in 2015, we were 20 families and a borrowed room. Ten years later we are over 190, and 73 of those families joined in just the last two years. We've become one of the natural landing places for olim arriving in one of Israel's fastest-growing cities, often with no network at all. They walk in as strangers and stay as family.
That growth is the whole story. It's also the problem.
The room is fullOn Shabbat and chagim, members stand in the doorways. Our children, the next generation of this kehilla, are growing faster than the space we have to hold them. The very thing that makes Darchei Tzion special, that it is open, warm, and growing, is now straining against the walls of the building we're in.
This is a good problem. It's the problem of a community that is alive. But it's a problem we have to solve now. And right now, we have a rare chance to solve it properly.
A once-in-a-decade opportunityIn partnership with the AMIT campus that hosts us, we can transform the upstairs hall into a permanent Beit Knesset, on a 50/50 basis, with AMIT carrying half the cost alongside us. It means the community's investment goes twice as far, and it means we can finally build with the next decade in mind instead of patching the present.
This window won't stay open. The community we want to be in 2035 is decided by what we build in 2026.
What your gift buildsA permanent Beit Knesset. A fully refurbished hall: new floor, ceiling, Aron Kodesh, and Bima, with seating for 350 to 550. Room to daven, room to grow, and a doorway no one is ever turned away from again. Our current sanctuary stays in use for the hashkama minyan, youth minyanim, and learning.
A campus built for a kehilla. Community bathrooms, real air conditioning, shaded space for Kiddush, and proper storage. It's the unglamorous infrastructure that turns a borrowed campus into a true communal home.
A future for our children. A dedicated Youth Development Fund for the kids growing up in KDT: holiday programs, Tefillat Yeladim, a teen minyan, leadership development, and a paid youth director to hold it all together. The families who join today are staking their children's Jewish lives on this place. This is how we honor that.
You don't have to be a member to build thisCampaigns like this come once in a generation. What we raise now will hold tefillah, learning, simchas, and chessed for the next ten years and far beyond, long after the scaffolding comes down.
If Darchei Tzion has ever been your home, or if you simply believe in what it means for a family to land in Israel and immediately belong, this is your invitation to lay a stone in the foundation.
Join us in building the future of Kehillat Darchei Tzion. Together.
