Established in Memory of Staff Sergeant Ben Cohen
Staff Sergeant Ben Cohen fell in a heroic battle in southern Lebanon on March 30, 2026, while defending the State of Israel—a nation he loved wholeheartedly—and the people to whom he was deeply devoted.
Yet Ben’s legacy extends far beyond the story of a courageous soldier.
It is a story of exceptional leadership, selfless dedication, profound compassion, and an unwavering sense of responsibility toward his community and society at large.
Ben possessed a rare ability to inspire and unite those around him. With his radiant smile, generous spirit, and remarkable capacity to truly see and understand others, he left an indelible mark on every life he touched. He brought people together, uplifted those in need, and consistently chose to place the well-being of others before his own. His charisma, empathy, and extraordinary emotional intelligence made him a leader who influenced not through authority, but through personal example, kindness, and genuine care.
The values that guided Ben throughout his life are the very values that lie at the heart of the Nachshon Mechina: social leadership, civic responsibility, community engagement, love of Israel and its people, and a steadfast commitment to creating meaningful and lasting impact.
The decision to name the Lehavim campus in Ben’s memory arose from a profound desire to continue the path he embodied—to cultivate a new generation of young men and women who lead with purpose, integrity, compassion, and a deep belief in their ability to shape a better future.
Ben believed wholeheartedly in the State of Israel, in its people, and in the importance of serving a cause greater than oneself. Upon completing his military training, he told his parents that defending our country was one of the greatest privileges of his life.
That conviction defined the way he lived.
And it remained with him until his final day.
Through this commemorative initiative and our partnership in establishing the Nachshon Mechina Campus in Ben Cohen’s name, we seek to transform Ben’s enduring light into a living legacy—one that will continue to inspire and guide countless young people for generations to come.
Your support will enable us to expand and sustain the educational and values-based programming of the campus, develop learning and enrichment facilities, and provide scholarships to participants whose financial circumstances might otherwise prevent them from taking part.
This is far more than a memorial endeavor.
It is an investment in life, in education, in leadership, and in hope.
It is a commitment to ensuring that Ben’s values, vision, and spirit continue to illuminate the path forward for future generations
