The StoryYad Yissachar V'Yitzchak was born from merit. Yissachar Yazdi, z"l, a man with no family of his own, gave everything he had so that no family in Israel would go to sleep hungry. Yitzchak Ochana, z"l, was memorialized by his grandchildren, who volunteered with the organization. In their names — and in their merit — a nationwide chesed organization was founded. Today it sustains hundreds of families in need on an ongoing basis: with food, with dignity, with a hand extended across all of Israel. What Is a Chesed Point?A Chesed Point is a physical hub of giving in the heart of a community: a dedicated station with a refrigerator and freezer that makes it possible to collect, store, and distribute fresh food to local families. Each Point is a lifeline. The more Points there are, the more families receive help — close to home, with dignity. At the center of it all: hundreds of families supported year-round, across five areas of impact. • Food Distribution — Ongoing nutritional support for hundreds of families in hardship, with active distribution centers (including our main distribution hangar in Ashdod). Our guiding verse: "Olam chesed yibaneh" — a world built on kindness. • Shtilei Mordechai — 15 years of mentorship for Israel's schoolchildren, with more than 20 counselors building a tailored program for each institution. • At-Risk & Struggling Youth — Guidance and a supportive framework for teens navigating life's hardest crossroads. • Bikur Cholim — Visits and encouragement at medical centers and to isolated elderly — on holidays and throughout the year. • Strengthening Jewish Life — Tefillin campaigns and Shabbat candle distribution — bringing tradition closer and within reach.
