Saving Rabbi Achiad Ettinger's life's work

On March 17 this year, Rav Achiad Ettinger was driving to his yeshiva when a terrorist shot at him at the Ariel Junction. Wounded, he somehow turned his car around and shot back. That brave act stopped the terrorist killing other Jews, but Rav Achiad died al Kiddush Hashem (sanctifying G-d's Name), leaving a wife and 12 children. Rav Achiad had founded Yeshivat "Oz VeEmuna") literally "Might and Faith") in the Neve Sha'anan neighborhood in south Tel Aviv with the aim of spreading Judaism. He was spurred into action by Jewish residents leaving the area, deserted shuls and the sight of Eritreans filling the streets. So in an effort to revitalize the area – and at great personal sacrifice – he dedicated his life to Yeshivat "Oz VeEmuna." And today, despite his absence, the yeshiva is a lighthouse for Torah, a source of Jewish strength and the pride of every Jew in the neighborhood and in Tel Aviv in general. Rav Achiad's selfless dedication for the sake of Torah, the Jewish people and the Land of Israel continues to live on in Yeshivat "Oz VeEmunah" every single day. We're not giving up! Since Rav Achiad's murder, Bnei David Institutions have taken it upon themselves to maintain the yeshiva's activities and are putting together a strong group of new students for the coming year.
