Climbing in Memory of Guy Ludar

Guy Ludar was a climber, coach, friend, and someone who believed in the power of people to connect, grow, and overcome challenges. Over the years, he became an integral part of the climbing community in northern Israel and touched many lives through his humility, kindness, and love for others. Following his fall in combat in Southern Lebanon, we chose to continue his path through the activity that was so closely identified with him – climbing. Guy grew up at Campus Climbing Gym in Karmiel. It was there that he took his first steps as a climber, developed his skills, became a coach, and inspired generations of young climbers. This campaign aims to establish and sustain an annual climbing event in Guy’s memory, bringing together his family, close friends, friends from home, fellow soldiers, members of the climbing community, and people from across Israel. Together, we will gather, climb, remember, and carry forward the values that Guy represented – friendship, perseverance, love for others, and a strong sense of community. The funds raised will support the production of the event, route setting, memorial activities, and the development of a lasting tradition that will continue to inspire and bring people together for many years to come. Through this event, we seek to honor Guy not only through remembrance, but through action by continuing to climb his path, together.
