About the Project
In the wake of the war, we found ourselves at a crossroads. Our activities were significantly reduced, and our income declined dramatically. Yet the need for art as a source of healing, resilience, and social transformation has only grown stronger.
In ordinary times, the museum serves as a vibrant cultural, artistic, and community hub, welcoming a wide range of visitors—from kindergarten children, elementary and high school students, and university students to retirees and the general public. The museum is dedicated to fostering the core ideas and values of the Dada movement, co-founded by Marcel Janco, as well as promoting contemporary art. Through the museum and its youth education center, The Dada Lab (Ma’abadada), visitors participate in guided tours, lectures, performances, workshops, and meaningful encounters with art and artists.
Today, we need your support to ensure that this cultural beacon continues to inspire, educate, and create.
Your contribution will help us:
* Restore the museum to full operation as a leading cultural and educational institution.
* Continue nurturing interdisciplinary arts education for diverse audiences.
* Keep the spirit of the avant-garde alive and make it accessible to future generations as a vital tool for navigating an ever-changing world.
Every donation of ₪1,000 or more includes membership in the Friends of the Janco-Dada Museum Society and free admission for two to the museum for one year.
Donations are tax-deductible in Israel under Section 46 of the Income Tax Ordinance.
About the Museum
The Janco-Dada Museum is located in the heart of the artists’ village of Ein Hod, on the slopes of Mount Carmel. Founded in 1983, the museum was established to preserve and celebrate the legacy of Marcel Janco—co-founder of the Dada movement in Zurich, pioneer of modern art in both Europe and Israel, artist, architect, founder of the artists’ village of Ein Hod, and recipient of the Israel Prize for Lifetime Achievement in the Arts.
After immigrating to Israel during the Second World War, Marcel Janco believed that the young nation needed a strong cultural foundation in order to flourish. He devoted his life to that vision as an artist, educator, and cultural pioneer. Today, the museum bridges the historic avant-garde with contemporary artistic practice, presenting Janco’s permanent collection alongside rotating exhibitions by Israeli and international artists who continue to embody his spirit of innovation.
