Meir Modiin - Expanding our home, spreading the light!

It all started over two decades ago, in a very small way: a minyan in a kindergarten. A few families, a lot of excitement, and one simple dream – to build a place that feels like home. A place where neighbors become friends, and individuals become a community. Since then, much has changed. Modiin has grown, and so have we. The children who once played between the chairs are now arriving with their children of their own. The families who founded the community have become part of a story that spans more than two decades. Once we celebrated brits here, and today we attend Army ceremonies and dance at the weddings of the generation that grew up here. But one thing has not changed: The Meir Modiin community is much more than a synagogue. It is a place of connection. Between veterans and new olim, between young families and seniors, between those who arrived years ago and those who joined just recently – everyone immediately feels at home. Because at the end of the day, a community isn't built from walls; a community is built from people. Over the years, a vibrant and bustling community has grown here, full of Torah learning, social action, activities for children and youth, family events, and community initiatives. Women lead, create, teach, inspire, and form a central part of the beating heart of the community. All of these together have created a great light – the light of Torah, of chesed, of community, and of belonging. And this light continues to grow. Today, we are stepping into our next chapter. The community has grown, the activities are expanding, and the building that served us faithfully is no longer enough for the needs of today – and tomorrow. Therefore, we are launching a significant expansion of the synagogue, adding a new space to the community that will allow us to continue growing together. More space for learning. More space for gatherings. More space for children, youth, and families. More space to welcome new members. More space for light. Because we are not just building a structure. We are building the next chapter in the story of the Meir Modiin community. A building that will allow the next generation to grow here, just as we were blessed to grow here. A building that will open its gates to more families, more friendships, and more action. A building that will ensure that twenty years from now, people will still feel that same sense of belonging, warmth, and community. The community we built together is a source of pride.And now, the time has come to build its future together. Together, we will expand our home. Together, we will clear space for more holiness, more families, and more connections. Together, we will allow the light created here to keep growing, to illuminate, and to impact more and more people.
