Good people for J J is a lone soldier who immigrated to Israel out of Zionism and a deep love for the country. He left his life abroad to volunteer for meaningful service in the IDF, joining the Paratroopers Brigade, Battalion 101. Since October 7, J has served hundreds of days in the reserves as a frontline machine gunner, fighting in multiple arenas, including Kfar Aza (on October 7), Gaza, Metula, Lebanon, and along Israel’s northern border—and at this very moment, he is once again serving in Lebanon. J lost his father at a young age. During his reserve service, he received the devastating news that his mother had passed away in Switzerland after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was unable to be by her side in her final moments. The cost of the funeral and burial expenses abroad totaled approximately ₪100,000—an amount far beyond the means of J and his only sister. We, J’s fellow reservists, are reaching out to ask for your help in easing the heavy financial burden that has been placed upon him. It is important to emphasize that although J is completely alone in Israel, he has always supported himself independently and does not want anyone to feel sorry for him. This fundraising campaign was created by J’s fellow reservists to help cover the loans he was forced to take out in order to pay for his mother’s funeral and burial expenses.
