Much More Trauma and Addiction on the street. Help Us Reach Everyone Who Need Care. Since October 7, we have witnessed a change that is impossible to ignore. More people are experiencing homelessness. More people are living with trauma, addiction, and untreated medical conditions. Research conducted in Israel has already shown a significant rise in psychological distress and addiction since the beginning of the war. We meet the people behind those statistics- on the streets, when they are already in the midst of an acute medical crisis. The need for Street Medicine has grown at a pace we have never seen before. In 2025 alone, we provided 684 medical interventions to people experiencing homelessness- an increase of 45% compared to the previous year. At the same time, the number of patients we see on every outreach round has increased by 61%. The message is clear: every time we go out, we meet more people with increasingly complex medical needs who depend on us for care. We treat wounds that have been neglected for months, life-threatening infections, unmanaged chronic diseases, women in urgent need of medical care, and people living with pain every single day simply because healthcare is out of reach. But Street Medicine is about far more than treating wounds. We go to the people who cannot make it to a clinic. We provide professional medical care, distribute medications, accompany patients to hospitals and community clinics, and, above all, build trust—the first step that enables people to care for their health again and, for many, begin a path toward recovery. Every medical backpack, every medication, every bandage, every diagnostic test, and every outreach round is made possible through the generosity of people who believe that everyone deserves access to compassionate, high-quality healthcare- regardless of whether they have a home.
