The Jerusalem Interfaith Center

The Jerusalem Interfaith Center exists to make religion part of the solution to conflict rather than a driver of it. Our mission is interfaith diplomacy that carries ethical weight, public consequences, and real-world responsibility. We work with religious leaders, scholars, and institutions to engage faith traditions seriously, textually, and theologically, so that religion can serve as a source of accountability, thereby laying the groundwork for reconciliation in societies shaped by conflict. Based in Jerusalem, we develop ideas, build networks, and shape religious discourse in ways that reduce violent motivations and influence real-world behavior and decision-making. Since its establishment, the center has been recognized by religious and political leaders in Israel and worldwide. To ensure its efforts align with the broader strategy of the State of Israel, the Center works in close cooperation with relevant government ministries and authorities. Impact to date (since October 7th, 2023): • 130+ global partners across the religious and policy spheres. • 30+ international convenings, including delegations during wartime. • 20+ active Abrahamic learning groups. • 50+ rabbis and leaders trained in interfaith diplomacy. • 4 books and a flagship global strategy report written. • 1M+ views and 4M impressions across media platforms. Jerusalem, spiritually complex and historically charged, is not just our location but our framework.
