Donors: 181

The courtyard of the Hebrew University Secondary School in Jerusalem is currently undergoing a comprehensive renovation. As part of the project, a new running track will be built, a shaded fitness area will be installed, safety flooring will be laid, the school garden will be renovated, and new seating areas and playground equipment will be added for the enjoyment and well-being of our students. The fitness area will be dedicated in honor of Beeri Harel, a member of Leyada's Class of 2024, who passed away in the summer of 2024, between his junior and senior years of high school. Beeri joined Leyada in the ninth grade and quickly became an integral part of the school community. He was funny, loved by everyone, and surrounded by friends. He had a remarkable ability to connect with everyone around him. As a counselor in the Telem Youth Movement, he loved spending time with his campers, playing soccer with them before activities, making them laugh, and supporting them with kindness, sensitivity, and genuine joy. Together with the Harel family, we sought a meaningful way to preserve Beeri's spirit as part of the daily life of the school. The fitness area, which will serve Leyada students every day, was chosen as the place that will honor his memory. About a year and a half ago, an initial fundraising effort, initiated by parents and friends from Beeri's class, enabled the planning process and the first stages of work on the courtyard. Now, as the renovation progresses, we are launching the final phase of the fundraising campaign to complete the fitness area dedicated in Beeri's honor. We invite everyone who has already supported this project, as well as those who wish to join us now, to take part in bringing it to completion. Our goal is to raise ₪150,000. As part of this matching campaign, every shekel donated by our community will be matched by the school. Every contribution will therefore have double the impact, helping us complete the project. Donations are tax-deductible in Israel under Section 46 of the Income Tax Ordinance.
