Camp Shutaf

By Shutaf Inclusion Programs in Jerusalem

Creating an environment of welcome and fun for children and teens with and without disabilities

Camp Shutaf in August Three weeks of inclusive day camp for 100 participants with diverse needs and disabilities. August is a time of critical need for working parents and their children who have disabilities. Quality, affordable camp programs are limited, and inclusive, informal-education opportunities are virtually nonexistent. Many Shutaf participants also represent an underserved population. Considered less "needy" by government agencies, they receive fewer therapeutic services, and have longer school vacations. Shutaf fills a critical gap for campers and their families.   Camp Shutaf Tracks • Campers (ages 6-12) enjy a wide variety of camp activities. • Explorers (ages 12-14) have activities appropriate for young teens, including adventures out of camp.   • Bogrim (ages 14-21) focus on social skills and personal growth while exploring what the city has to offer via volunteerism and cultural experiences.  • Junior Counselor Voc-Ed Program. Older teens (ages 16-21), with and without disabilities, work with camper groups or as specialists’ assistants.
