they made me a sanctuary

We are a community of about 50 young families in the Kiryat Hasharon neighborhood of Netanya. We are in the midst of a process to build a synagogue for our community. With great excitement, respect and reverence, a decision was made to honor, cherish and perpetuate the memory of the Hero of Israel, Col. Assaf Hammi, that our synagogue will be built in his memory and called "Ma'ale Assaf". We see a great privilege for our community, adults, young people and children, that our house of prayer will be named after Assaf. His character, spirit, modesty will be a model for our children and all worshipers of the synagogue. Assaf, the Hero of Israel, the commander of the southern sector in the Gaza Division, fell in battle on October 7, after a heroic battle and thus saved the lives of many civilians. Our community operates within the framework of the "Drachei Shalom - Netanya" association, association number 580502524. The association is managed under the supervision of the Registrar of Associations, holds a proper management certificate for the year 2026. The association is accompanied by a CPA and has a donation certificate according to section 46.
