The Battle for the Next Generation

Amplifying Guy’s VoiceOn October 7, 2023, amid the devastating attack on Kibbutz Re’im, Staff Sergeant Guy Simhi chose to act. Guy, a soldier in the IDF Paratroopers Reconnaissance Unit who was home on leave and attending the Nova music festival, led his friends to Kibbutz Re’im. He then went back out to find other young people hiding nearby and brought them to protected rooms. Guy remained outside the safe room alongside his armed friend, determined to protect the people inside. Unarmed, he fought the terrorists with his bare hands and fell in battle. Through his courage, resourcefulness and self-sacrifice, Guy saved approximately thirty lives. But Guy’s story did not begin that morning, and it does not end there. Guy was a natural leader. He loved Israel and its people, brought others together, protected those who were left behind, and believed deeply in responsibility, friendship and perseverance. In his commander’s notebook, he wrote: “You cannot defeat a person who rises after every fall. Always keep moving forward.” Inspired by these words, the Simhi family and HaShomer HaChadash are establishing Mechinat Kol Guy. More Than Remembrance. A Living Legacy.Mechinat Kol Guy is a pre-military leadership academy for young men and women who have completed high school. Located at Ron Farm near Arad, the Mechina will train a new generation of resilient, courageous and values-driven Israeli leaders. Its participants will combine agricultural work, group life, the study of Jewish and Zionist identity, leadership development and preparation for meaningful military service. The Mechina will also offer a unique communications and public advocacy program. Participants will learn to speak before audiences and cameras, formulate clear messages, confront difficult questions and represent Israel with knowledge and confidence. The struggle for Israel’s future is not taking place only on the battlefield. It is also being fought on social media, on university campuses, in the media and across the international arena. Israel needs leaders who know how to act and how to communicate; who can work the land and defend Israel’s story. Help Us Build the MechinaTo welcome its participants, operate its educational programs and train future classes, Mechinat Kol Guy needs the physical and educational infrastructure required to become a permanent home for this mission. Donations will help prepare residential and learning facilities, purchase essential equipment, develop the communications and leadership program, and provide scholarships enabling young Israelis from across the country to participate. Your donation will build far more than a physical campus. It will help raise a generation of young people with the courage, confidence and sense of responsibility to serve others, lead in the IDF and Israeli society, and carry Guy’s values into the future. Join us in establishing Mechinat Kol Guy. Together, we will amplify Guy’s voice and raise Israel’s next generation of leaders.
