Shanah Tovah, Before the holidays, Hakol Mehalev sends an envelope of grocery vouchers to bereaved families, to wounded soldiers, to the sick, and to lone soldiers. With that voucher, a family walks into a store, buys its children what they need, and pays at the register like everybody else. Nobody there knows where it came from — and the table at home fills up with dignity. We are not dividing up a sum of money. We are dividing up households. Each person chooses how many to take: one family for $400, two for $800, three for $1,200. One envelope covers a full household through all of the Tishrei holidays. Take one, and there is a family that will sit down to the holiday with dignity and with a full table. One household whose table is full because of you.
