Restoring Soul to Life When someone lives and breathes Torah study, friends, and community—it is their entire world. It is the place that gives them the most strength, meaning, and joy. But when a mental health challenge strikes, everything is shaken. Suddenly, a distance grows. Suddenly, the most natural and familiar places—the Beit Midrash, the study partner (chavruta), the social gathering—become hard to reach, leaving them feeling left out. This is precisely why we exist. At the 'Ma'alot' Study Centers (Batei Midrash), we provide individuals facing mental health challenges from the Religious and Orthodox communities with a warm home and a loving support system. In our study centers and women's seminaries (Midrashot), they rediscover a study partner, an understanding community, and a routine that rebuilds them. For them, this connection to Torah and community is not a privilege—it is the strongest anchor for recovery and mental well-being. Why do we need you now?
