Assaf Viewpoint - Carrying on the Legacy of Assaf Zamir

By Barak Association – 188th Brigade

Building a place of remembrance, life, and inspiration in his memory

Ends: 22:00

Donors: 1799

Assaf was only 19 years old when he lost his life in battle. He was quiet, humble, deeply principled, and had a profound love for people and for the Land of Israel. Now, we want to turn the values he lived by and the legacy he left behind into a place that will remain for generations to come. In Dimona, the city where Assaf grew up, we will build Assaf Viewpoint- a place of remembrance, connection, nature, and inspiration, dedicated to the memory of Sergeant Assaf Zamir. Assaf Zamir served as an armored corps soldier in the 53rd Battalion of the 188th Brigade. He fell in battle in the southern Gaza Strip on July 4, 2025, at the age of 19. Assaf was an outstanding student and a devoted soldier. He lived by the values of humility, kindness, patience, giving, and love for his country. He enlisted with a deep sense of purpose, continuing his family’s proud legacy of contributing to Israel’s security. The Vision- Assaf Viewpoint will be built at a unique location in Dimona, overlooking the breathtaking desert landscape of the Negev. The viewpoint will be an open and welcoming space connecting people, nature, and remembrance. It will include a scenic observation point, peaceful seating areas, and elements that will tell Assaf’s story and preserve his memory and the values by which he lived. Our goal is to create more than a memorial. We want to create a living place, somewhere people can come together, pause, take in the view, and carry something of Assaf’s spirit and values with them. Your Contribution Brings the Vision to Life- Every donation is part of building Assaf Viewpoint and brings us one step closer to turning this vision into reality. We invite you to join us in building Assaf Viewpoint. Every contribution brings us closer to creating a place where Assaf’s story, legacy, and values will continue to live on and inspire future generations. The project is being established in partnership with Barak Association 188th Brigade, which is supporting the development of the project and its fundraising efforts. Donations are tax-deductible in Israel under Section 46 of the Israeli Income Tax Ordinance. The Barak Association holds a valid Certificate of Proper Management and Section 46 status. U.S. donors who contribute through JGive can receive a U.S. tax-deductible receipt under Section 501(c)(3).
