Yeholot

Yeholot works to reduce gaps in education, curb the dropout rate, and increase eligibility for matriculation certificates for high school students who otherwise would not be given the opportunity. In addition to leading to increased opportunities in these kids’ futures and increasing human capital, Yeholot’s programs lead to social mobility, and a sense of belonging to Israeli society. Yeholot works within the schools and with their staff, focusing on the most underachieving, at-risk students. Yeholot focuses on Israel’s socio-geographic periphery and underserved communities, helping all sectors of Israeli society, including Jews, Arabs, Druze, and Bedouins, with a particular focus on northern and southern communities. For example, in the Druze community of Beit Jan in the north, we brought the eligibility rate for matriculation exams up to 100%, of which 35.8% are graduates of Yeholot’s programs. This past year, we reached additional schools including an Ultra-Orthodox school in Tzfat that prepares students for the work force. Tel Aviv University issues annual reports on our measurable objectives – showing that hundreds of students have been given a real chance to improve their future.
