Support The Dogs Restore Project through Keren Or Caesarea Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition that can develop after experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event. It affects individuals in various ways and can cause significant distress and impairment in daily functioning. Israel faces an unprecedented surge in post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) cases. According to data from Israel's healthcare system, PTSD diagnoses have increased by approximately 70% since the October 7th 2023 attacks. Estimated 60% of the 22,000 IDF troops injured since 2023 suffer from PTSD. The public health system can not cope with the demand. Alternative solutions are needed urgently. Check out this explanatory video: https://youtu.be/iuKrVWNvq2s?s... The Restore Dogs project has pioneered a new approach to animal-assisted therapy for individuals with PTSD. This initiative not only emphasizes the therapeutic benefits of working with animals but also incorporates vocational training, enabling participants to acquire new skills while teaching both animals and fellow humans. The program, which spans eight months, culminates in a professional certification in canine training. Weekly sessions include an hour of canine training, a communal meal, and group discussions among participants who share similar experiences with PTSD. This innovative structure has demonstrated significant success in alleviating symptoms of depression and PTSD. https://youtu.be/iuKrVWNvq2s?s... In addition to its therapeutic focus, the Restore Dogs project is committed to rescuing and rehabilitating abandoned and homeless dogs, often rescuing them from perilous conditions. The guiding principle of this initiative is to give every dog a chance at life and never to abandon them. Furthermore, the project specializes in the rehabilitation of retired IDF service dogs, which demands a high level of expertise in canine psychology and training. Through these efforts, the Restorative Dogs project not only aids individuals in need but also enhances the lives of animals requiring care and support.
