An ultra-triathlon from Mount Hermon to Eilat, raising funds for Yeladim – Fair Chance for Children, which supports young adults without family support who grew up in residential care across Israel. 5 days | 105 km running | 585 km cycling | 10 km swimming | 700 km total, from north to south This November, Amir Lis, middle school principal at Shamir High School in Tel Aviv and an Ironman triathlete, will take on an extraordinary challenge: a five-day ultra-triathlon from Mount Hermon to Eilat, passing through communities near the Gaza border. 700 kilometers of swimming, cycling and running, with one goal: to raise support for university and college students who grew up in residential care, are supported by Yeladim – Fair Chance for Children, and are taking their first steps into independent adult life. Every 5,000 NIS we raise will allow us to support a boarding school graduate for an entire academic year. Want to join the journey? Everyone can take part in a way that suits them. Join Amir for a whole day or part of the way, by running or cycling. You can also support the students, or share the campaign and add more people to the journey. Participation in the journey is independent, and each participant bears their own costs. Donations to the campaign are dedicated to supporting students who have graduated from boarding schools. • View the full route • Questions? The support I received from Yeladim – Fair Chance for Children gave me room to breathe, someone to turn to for advice, and the ability to focus on my studies instead of simply trying to survive.” Sagit's story, age 22, social work student and residential care alumna For young adults who grew up in residential care, a degree is more than just a degree. It is a pathway to independence. But they often have to make this journey without what many of us take for granted: someone to ask for advice, someone to turn to when things get difficult, and someone who will be there when a crisis hits. Yeladim - Fair Chance for Children accompanies them even after leaving the boarding school, with personal and emotional support, a permanent figure they can turn to, and support in moments of crisis, so that they can continue on the path they have chosen for themselves. Every 5,000 NIS we raise will allow us to support a boarding school graduate for an entire academic year. 700 km in five days. The more people join the journey, the more young people we can support on their path. Donations to Yeladim – Fair Chance for Children are tax-deductible in Israel, the U.S, the U.K and Canada, in accordance with our Terms of Use
